During this year's spring season, 63 mountaineers have obtained permits to ascend Mt Everest, the world's highest peak, according to the Department of Tourism. These permits were acquired by 13 women and 50 men from five distinct expedition groups by Monday.
Chun Bahadur Tamang, the Section Officer of the Department, disclosed that a total of 148 individuals, including 42 women, have secured permits to climb various mountains, including Mt Everest. As a result of issuing these permits, a sum of 105.59 million rupees in royalty has been collected thus far.
The Department announced through a press release that three expedition teams, in parity, have been granted permits to ascend Mt Amadablam and Mt Annapurna, following the distribution for Mt Everest.
Last year, 478 individuals had received permits to climb Mt Everest, as per the Department's records.
