Food Central!

With Thamel and Jhochhen covered, now we can explore Jhamsikhel. Located on the outskirts of Lalitpur, this small residential area has seen major transformation with many service side businesses sprouting. Restaurants, bars and the bright lights have slowly become synonymous to Jhamsikhel, with many business-owners capitalising on these opportunities. While Thamel may have the hustle and bustle and Jhochhen, the colourful history, Jhamsikhel has the potential of being the next big thing. Today, it is already a raging tourist hub for recreation and luxuries.

While it is close to the historical site of Patan Durbar Square, it was mostly a quiet residential area in Lalitpur. But today, it is a place for uber swanky social gatherings and the likes. With Labim Mall closeby, it already has a huge mass of locals exploring the chic cafes and eateries. Many restaurants, cafes, bars and and even some nightclubs have emerged in the streets of Jhamsikhel. Anything from Western food, Asian delicacies to sumptuous desserts is available; food central to say the least.

While it has been a much slower and tougher road, hotel chains have also banked on the opportunities around the area.

All in all, Jhamsikhel has caught up with the restaurant culture and eating out. Its relaxed vibe makes it a happening brunch and drinks location; luxury and recreation in one.

Establishments of recreation like spas, wellness centres and the arts are popping up by the minute; the community fosters a culture of nightlife and recreational activities. If all of this goes on, Jhamsikhel has the potential of being the biggest hub for tourists and social gatherings for people to revel in.
