One of three Durbar Squares (royal palace squares) in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal, Kathmandu Durbar Square (Basantapur Durbar Kshetra) is situated in front of the old royal palace of the erstwhile Kathmandu Kingdom and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
