Get out, meet people, and soak in the colours of Holi, but with caution.
Holi is a popular Hindu festival that is believed to mark the triumph of virtue over evil. It is also known as the “Festival of Colors”. It is traditionally celebrated in India, Nepal, and other regions of South Asia, as well as other nations with a large Hindu population.
Holi is a time for people to gather together, let go of old grudges, and enjoy the arrival of spring. This festival is celebrated by flinging coloured powder and water on one another, as well as singing, dancing, and feasting.
1. Wear comfortable clothes
Holi is all about physical activities like playing with colours and water, chasing people, and throwing them on people. It requires comfortable clothes in which you can run, jump, chase and get drenched in water. So make sure you wear comfortable clothes and enjoy yourself to the fullest.
2. Respect others’ boundaries
Most people love to play Holi but there are also certain people who don’t want to play and want to stay away from all the colours and water. Respect their choice and let them be. No one should be forced to play Holi. Make sure you do not make anyone feel bad.
3. Play in a safe environment
Holi is usually played in a mass. There are lots of people running and chasing and having fun. Make sure you play in safe places. Avoid places where lots of vehicles come and go. Play in open spaces so that you and others are safe.
4. Ask before acting
Ask other people before applying colours on them or before splashing water on them. Do not go and play with strangers without permission or without a proper interaction. As there will be lots of people playing together, make sure you ask them before joining others’ groups and before playing with them.
5. Be mindful of waste
There will be lots of packets and plastics after the celebration of Holi. Please clean your waste yourself and keep the space clean. Dispose of such garbage in the proper place so that it doesn’t pollute the place.
Holi is the time to have fun, and bond with people. So enjoy this festival to the fullest with your family and friends. Most of all, have a great time!
