Designer’s Meet 2019 was an event where the young and upcoming innovative interior designers had a chance to meet and network with the veterans of the interior designing profession. Organised by Interior Design Nepal on August 17, the event was held at Begnas Hall in Radisson Hotel Kathmandu.
The Chief Guest of the event was President of Interior Designer’s Association Nepal, Bindira Kakshapati Pradhan. Special guests for the event were Academic Director of Kantipur International College (KIC) Nabaraj Pokharel, Managing Director of IEC College of Arts and Fashion Shailaja Adhikary, President of Nepal International Exhibition Association Dharma Raj Shakya, Artist and Social Activists Milan Rai and Nepali Actor and Model Sushil Shrestha. The event was attended by other aspiring and established interior designers and representatives from the sponsoring companies.
The MC for the event was Nepali Standup Comedian and Actor Sandeep Chhetri who with his witty humour filled the event with laughter. One of the main focus of the event was prize distribution for the ‘3D Design Render Competition 2018’. A total of 21 contestants participated in the competition. The Judges for the competition were Bikash Basukala from KIC College, Ashok Maharjan from IEC College and Kriti Upadhyaya from Vogue Interiors Nepal. The winner of Public Choice Award was Pasang Lhamu Sherpa and the winner of Jury’s Choice Award was Nisha Tuladhar. The winner gave a short presentation of their design.
Some of the highlights of the event were a presentation by Home Automation Nepal on their products, a brief by Milan Rai on the social initiatives he has been working on and a sneak peak of the Sushil Shrestha’s upcoming movie ‘Love Diaries’.
The official event came to an end with an inspiring speech from Chef Guest Bindira Kakshapati Pradhan. After the event the guest interacted over a delighful buffet-dinner.
