Tourist arrivals in Nepal experienced a significant boost in August this year, with an 8.3 percent increase compared to the same month in 2023, according to the latest data from the Nepal Tourism Board. This growth translated to an additional 5,566 tourists visiting the country last month compared to the previous year. In August 2023, Nepal welcomed 67,153 visitors, whereas in August 2024, that number climbed to 72,719. A substantial portion of these tourists, totaling 25,832, came from India, reflecting the continued strong interest from the neighboring country. This upward trend underscores Nepal's growing appeal as a travel destination, attracting more international visitors year after year.
