The country has logged 8,305 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The country has logged 8,305 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed through the 22,087 tests conducted during this period. Among the new cases, 8,227 new confirmed through PCR method while 78 through antigen.

According to information shared at the routine press meet organized by the Ministry virtually here today, PCR tests were conducted on 21,695 people while 392 were tested through antigen method. The COVID-19caseload in the country has reached 488,645. There are currently 115,852 actives cases of COVID-19in the country and the patients were undergoing treatment at isolation facilities. 

Similarly, 6,543 COVID-19 patients recovered from the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours, the Ministry said. With this, the total recovery cases reach 366,946. Likewise, 190 people succumbed to deadly infection today, taking the COVID-19 death toll in the country to 5,847. 

A total of 932 people suspected to have contracted COVID-19have been quarantined as of today, the Ministry said.
