Red pandas have started appearing in the forests of the Cholangpati area under the Gosainkunda religious route. Endangered red pandas have been found in the area even as the time of snowfall is approaching.
In 1987, the study of wildlife expert Dr. Prahlad Yongjen found that red pandas were found in Chandanbari and Cholangparti areas.
After this, red pandas are being protected through Langtang National Park. It is said that Hindus and Buddhists who go to Gosaikunda pilgrimage and internal and external tourists who go to see the shades of Himalayan nature can easily observe the red panda during their journey.
The Langtang National Park Office said, “The red pandas have started to be seen in the forests above about three thousand meters above sea level due to the effective protection.”
According to Pramod Bhattarai, the Chief Conservation Officer of the park, “Due to the regular patrolling of the Nepali army Bishnudal Gana stationed under the special protection of the park and the absence of other quadrupeds and human settlements, red pandas have started to be spotted in Cholangpati forest area in the upper part of Chandanbari.
“Everyone's hand is needed in red panda conservation.” adds Bhattarai. _RSS
