A 24-year-old pregnant woman of Kanchanrup municipality-11 in Saptari district breathed her last at her home quarantine today.
According to her family member, she passed away this morning while preparation was underway to take her to Rajbiraj for treatment. She was suffering from high fever and respiratory complications since Sunday night, the family sources added.
She was taken to the clinic of Dr Binita Yadav in Rajbiraj after her fever exceeded 100 degree last Thursday and she was asked to visit the clinic again after five days.
Officiating Chief of the District Health Office, Saptari, Duniya Lal Yadav, said the doctor had prescribed medicine of urine infection and also advised her to stay in quarantine at home. The woman was 18-weeks pregnant and had fever for the past 10 days.
Senior health worker at health section of Kanchanrup municipality, Dambar Mahato said preparations were on to take swab samples of the deceased for coronavirus test as symptoms she had developed were similar to the virus.
