One person has been killed in a wild elephant attack in Chitwan National Park. The deceased has been identified as Ait Bahadur Chepang, 50, of Rapti Municipality-1.
 
According to the District Police Office, Chitwan the person was attacked by an elephant while he was going to cut grass inside the park on Sunday. He and his wife Bishnumaya Chepang, 40, had gone to mow the grass near Dobhan in the eastern sector of the park when they were attacked by an elephant. After the incident, his wife and relatives brought the body home. The body was brought to Bharatpur Hospital for autopsy, police said.

Chitwan National Park has stated that its own person has entered the core area of ​​the park without any permission or information. At the same time, the number of deaths due to wildlife attacks in the park and surrounding areas has reached five in the current fiscal year. Three of them were killed by tigers, one by rhinos and one by wild elephants. Earlier, a mahout of the National Nature Conservation Fund was killed in a domestic elephant attack in the core area of ​​the park.
