SINDUPALCHOWK
The fair of Gaurati Bhimeshwar in Sindhupalchowk district, which takes place on the full moon day of Kartik, will not be held this year. Chairman of the Gaurati Development Society and Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal said that the fair has been stopped keeping in mind the epidemic of Covid-19.
The district administration office has urged the public not to perform any sacrificial worship at the temple, which houses about 5,000 animals and birds, including government worship. The fair of Gaurati Bhimeshwar, located at Gauratidanda, four kilometers northwest of the district headquarters Chautara, begins on the full moon day and ends on the second day. The idol of Bhimsen is placed in a chariot from the Guthi Ghar of Chautara's old bazaar in a chariot.
This year, arrangements have been made to bring and bring idols in vehicles following the standards of health security, said Ward Chairman of Chautara Saganchokgadhi Municipality-5, Narman Palikhe. Although the idol of Bhimeshwar, discovered in ancient times, is believed to have been worshiped since then, it is believed that the temple has been there for more than 435 years, as the bell of the cast offering by the local Dal Bahadur Kunwar in 1642 BS still stands.
