Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has decided to slash air fares that it had been charging to bring Nepalis back home from abroad

The national flag-carrier made this decision addressing complaints regarding the earlier air fare determined for bringing Nepalis back home from major labour destination countries including the Gulf region.

NAC stated that the decision has been made in the form of greater efforts as per the request of the Government of Nepal. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, held a discussion in this regard today and urged NAC and Himalaya Airlines to review the present proposed air fare.

NAC has made it clear that the decision to decrease the air fare for the chartered flights has been taken realising the social responsibility rather than profit in such adverse situation and considering the difficulties faced by Nepalis in various countries. It expressed confidence that Nepalis especially in countries of the Gulf region, Malaysia and Cyprus would be directly benefited by this decision.
