The number of tourists visiting Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, has seen a hike of 83%

The highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, is now visited by more tourists than ever by over 83%. Tourist traffic increased 83.62% in the fiscal year 2078/079 compared to that of 2077/078.

As per the park statistics, 4,335 tourists visited the Everest region in 2017 and 26,474 people visited in 078/079 which is more than 22,139 people in total.

There were about 5,276 Nepalese and 21,198 foreigners among them. March to May and from September to November are the main seasons, in which tourists visit the Khumbu region.

The Sagarmatha National Park has a land area of 1,148 square kilometers which was founded in 2032. The world's highest peak, Mount Everest, as well as the over 6,000-meter snow peaks Lhotse, Nuptse, Choyo, Lhotsesar, Pumori, Amadablam, and Thamserku, are all located within this National Park. This park was also listed in a World Heritage Site in 1979.
