Landslide disrupts Gokuleswor-Darchula road section along Mahakali Highway

A landslide that occurred this morning at Panebanj along the Gokuleswor-Darchula road section has obstructed Mahakali Highway. It took away around 50 meters section of the road and also broke the gabion wall.

A landslide triggered by incessant rainfall has disrupted the Mahakali highway. The landslide that occurred this morning at Panebanj along the Gokuleswor-Darchula road section obstructed the highway.

Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Padma Bahadur Bista said the mudslide took away around 50 meters section of the road and also broke the gabion wall. Traffic has been completely put to a halt after the damages caused to the road.

The arrangement of excavator is being made to remove the landslide debris from the highway.

Police said the road traffic would resume by this evening. The highway disruption has left the passengers in the lurch with the vehicles stranded on the road.
