A family in Biratnagar donated a piece of land to build a shelter home where the persons rescued from streets would be housed. 

Khadka family of Biratnagar-5 donated 6 kathha of land worth around Rs 40 million to Mahav Sewa Ashram in Biratnagar. The land was donated honouring the will of late Dambar Bahadur Khadka who had pledged to donate a piece of his land to serve mankind. 

Biratnagar Metropolitan City Mayor Bhim Parajuli took the lead to take forward the generous in-kind contribution from the Khadka family. Dambar Satsang Sadguru Kabir Sewa Ashram's President Sushila Bhattarai handed over the land ownership certificate to Manav Sewa Ashram's Central President Ramji Adhikari. 

The incumbent government has been launching a campaign to rescue street children and homeless adults stranded on the streets and rehabilitate them to various shelters run by Manav Sewa Ashram, a philanthropic NGO.
