Kathmandu Valley to get traffic lights

The Department of Roads is installing traffic lights at five chowks and eight zebra crossings at Jadibuti, Thapathali, Durbar Marga and Kesharmahal.

 The Department of Roads is installing traffic lights in the Kathmandu Valley. Traffic lights would be fitted at five chowks and eight zebra crossings at Jadibuti, Thapathali, Durbar Marga and Kesharmahal. 

 The project would be implemented within the current fiscal year, 2020/21, said Krishna Nath Ojha, chief of the road safety and traffic section under the Department, adding that an agreement was reached for the project at the cost of Rs 11 million. 

 Similarly, the Department would install traffic lights along Koteshwor-Kalanki road. An agreement to install traffic lights at seven places along the road would be completed within the current fiscal year, 2020/21, said Ojha. "The installation of traffic lights will take place in the next fiscal year," he said.
