The Annapurna Rural Municipality in Kaski is preparing to launch paragliding from Deurali to Aaaledanda of Ghandruk.

Rural Municipality Chair Yubaraj Kunwar said the preparations for launching the service were on, targetting people having interests in adventurous sports like paragliding.

Earlier, during a study, it was found that the Deurali-Aaledanda route was suitable for the operation of paragliding. ''We will soon begin the process for acquiring permission for this from the bodies concerned. Besides, we are concerned about the promotion of sites of historic, religious and touristic importance inside at the locality and conservation of traditional art and culture," he said.

The local government plans to come up with programmes aimed to further highlight the touristic significance of Annapurna Base Camp, Hidden Lake, Maredanda, Tadapani and so on. Currently, preparations are on to issue brochures featuring such sites.

As he said, they will focus their efforts on the dissemination and promotion of homestay available at Bhadaure, Ghadruk, Landruk, Pothana, Australian Camp, Paaundurkot, and Dangsingh. Bearing in mind the 2022 International Tourism Year Campaign, the local government has decided to pursue a policy of further systematising the stay of tourists at the Annapurna Base Camp and hotel and restaurant services.
