KATHMANDU, NEPAL – 17 April 2025 – Celebrating ten years of operations, Himalaya Airlines continues to reinforce its community commitment through its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Step Towards Education”. As part of this enduring effort, the airline has once again extended its support to the children of Prayas Nepal by providing a full year’s worth of educational supplies for the upcoming academic session.
Himalaya Airlines officially handed over essential academic materials, including textbooks for various grade levels, notebooks, school registers, school and tennis shoes, among other necessities. This year, the airline went a step further by also donating bed sheets and bath towels, ensuring the children’s comfort and hygiene are also prioritized.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. Vijay Shrestha, Vice President of Administration, was present alongside Mrs. Ujjwala Dali, Head of the Brand Department. Reflecting on the initiative, Mrs. Dali remarked, “For the past eight years, I have had the privilege of visiting Prayas Nepal with this “Step Towards Education” initiative. Each year, I’ve watched these children grow into confident, capable young individuals with bright futures ahead. Many have already integrated into society and are independently forging their own paths. Witnessing this transformation is truly heartwarming—it reaffirms the purpose and value of every step we’ve taken together.”
Ms. Mani Joshi, President of Prayas Nepal, extended her sincere gratitude and said, “We are deeply grateful to Himalaya Airlines for being a consistent pillar of strength for Prayas Nepal. Their contributions go far beyond material support—they bring encouragement, hope, and continuity to the lives of these children. For over two decades, Prayas Nepal has positively impacted countless lives through its empowering programs. Today, it supports 18 determined children who are growing into responsible and empowered individuals, aligned with the organization’s mission.
