Thousands of devotees visited the Pashupatinath Temple today to celebrate the first Monday of Shrawan, the revered Nepali month dedicated to Lord Shiva. This day is marked with deep devotion and religious fervor as Mondays are considered especially auspicious for Lord Shiva.

Throughout the day, the temple echoed with the chants and prayers of the faithful, who had come from various parts of the country to pay their respects. Married women observed fasts, seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva for the longevity and well-being of their husbands. Meanwhile, unmarried girls participated in the fast with the hope of finding a good spouse, invoking the deity’s favor for a happy and prosperous married life.

The temple premises were adorned with garlands of fresh flowers, and the air was filled with the fragrance of incense and the sound of bells ringing in unison. Devotees offered milk, honey, and bel patra (leaves of the wood apple tree) to the Shiva Lingam, following age-old rituals with great reverence.
