Entry to the Kathmandu Valley from several districts via the Sanga transit point has been tightened following the increasing risk of coronavirus infection in the Valley.

According to Metropolitan Police Circle Jagati’s chief and deputy superintendent of police, Chakra Raj joshi, all vehicles including private and reserved vehicles and even pedestrians are restricted to cross into the Valley from Sanga point.

However, the restriction is not applicable for ambulance, fire engines and vehicles supplying the most essential services. Vehicles with pass for the operation are not allowed to cross Sanga after 7:00 pm. Transport containers are allowed to operate from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am, but they should not have more than two people: driver and assistant on the board.

Police have urged the entire citizen to reach homes by 9:00 pm. The movements of private and public vehicles and people have been restricted from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. The opening of shops, hotels and restaurants is banned after 9:00 pm.

In case of people of Kavrepalanchowk aspiring to enter the Valley, the possession of a citizenship certificate or an identity card is required.
