The Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) has decided to extend the numbers of isolation centres and quarantine facilities by considering the rising threat of the coronavirus pandemic.

The CCMC meeting decided to increase the isolation wards and quarantine facilities across the country in coordination with the local levels, said Secretary Mahendra Prasad Guragain at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

The Centre also concluded that the pandemic threat is on the rise as public are not abiding by the safety measures and protocols decided by the government. Secretary Guragain urged all including the security personnel, health workers and industrialists to stay safe in view of increasing infection cases.

No decision was taken on issues of the government's earlier decisions to operate air service and long-route vehicles from August 17 following the removal of almost four-month nationwide lockdown on July 22, he said.

The meeting focused on coordination between the federal, state and local governments for getting all health standards for COVID-19 obeyed and for local levels to mobilise necessary mechanism to deal with the infection.
