The completion of the Dorkhukhola bridge in Tadi Rural Municipality-3, Nuwakot district, is being hailed as a rare feat in the construction industry. Constructed over the Dorkhu river, the motorable bridge was completed 14 months ahead of schedule, benefiting thousands of locals by connecting the Urleni village and Kharanitar area. The bridge was constructed in a record time of just six months after the Infrastructure Development Office and Jaya Bishnu Construction Service Company signed a deal on July 14, 2022, with a deadline of two years.
The inauguration of the bridge was held on Thursday, with Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Shalikram Jammakattel leading the ceremony. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister assured locals that the government would prioritize road infrastructure development and allocate a sufficient budget for the same. He stated, "The multi-year budget will be ensured to gradually manage the dilapidated road projects."
Federal Parliament Member Hit Bahadur Tamang also emphasized the need for concerted efforts from all three levels of government for such development work. The bridge is a vital link for better connectivity in the area, facilitating the supply of agricultural produce to markets and enabling access to the Gosaikunda religious site along Sagarkunda.
The total bidding amount for the project was Rs 70 million, with the construction company receiving more than Rs 56 million. The completion of the bridge ahead of schedule is a significant achievement, considering the challenging terrain and logistical issues faced during the construction process. The successful completion of this project is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the construction team and the commitment of the government to prioritize infrastructure development in the region._Rss
