Dordi Rural Municipality of Lamjung has identified a new footpath for tourism promotion. The rural municipality has developed the 'Vedigoth Shelter' and is involved in the promotion of the footpath.
The rural municipality has identified four to 11-day footpaths. The trails that have been identified under the village municipality are completely new. Those who travel on these trails that are far from human settlements and road networks are confident that they will get a new experience.
A four-day trek can be done starting from Nautharsera in Dordi and passing through Ilam Pond, Lipelek, and then descending to Nautharsera from Dasrang. In addition, one can travel eight days from Nautharsera to Ilampokhari, Lipe Lake, Nautanche, Mulmche, and Ukhand Tanje Nautharsera. An 11-day trek can be done from Nautharsera Ilam Pond, Lipelek, Nautanche, Mulmche, Ukhand to Besi City via Hilletxar, Old Door, or Pishill via Meme Pond, Kumro Danda Bahr Pond.
According to the presiding officer, while traveling on the footpath, one can view the mountain ranges including red deer, honey hunting, waterfalls, caves, forts, etc. The rural municipality has already started work by spending Rs 59 lakh for tourism promotion in the current financial year. Up to now, work is being done to restructure the pond as well as to identify the footpaths, spread the word and develop the sheepfold as a shelter.
Lamjung is a district with good potential in the tourism sector and there is also a good and new possibility for footpaths in Dordi.
