Officials have said that more than 20,000 tourists visited Chitwan National Park (NCP) during this year's Dasahain vacation. Of the total visitors, the number of Nepalis was 13,233. The CNP collected Rs 18.54 million in revenue from the visitors during the Dashain vacation. According to the CNP, the number of visitors increased this year compared to previous years. The information officer of the CPN, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, said that a total of 779 tourists from the SAARC countries arrived at the CNP, while the number of tourists from other countries was recorded at 6,048.
Most of the visitors entered the CNP from the Sauraha area. Tiwari shared that almost 18,000 visitors entered the CNP from the Sauraha area and made 404 jeep safaris. Likewise, around 1,100 tourists entered the CNP from the Kasara area. Furthermore, some tourists also visited the CNP from the Madi area, the Amaltari area, and the Kujauli area.
Meanwhile, the number of foreigners visiting Sauraha has increased sharply in recent days. Hoteliers said that around 1,500 foreigners have visited the site on average every day. The hotels' occupancy is also as high as 95 percent in Sauraha. The hotel's bookings have reached up to 75 percent until December, as the number of foreigners increased rapidly after the Dashain festival._Rss
