The previous fiscal year saw an increase in the number of visitors to Chitwan National Park. In fiscal year 2080/081, the park saw 306,837 visitors, compared to 299,412 in 2079/080.
Chitwan National Park's information officer, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, recorded 7,425 more visits than the year before.
Domestic tourists made up 176,316 of the total visitors, down from the 205,605 domestic visitors in the previous fiscal year.
From 55,872 foreign visitors from outside the SAARC region in the fiscal year 2079/080 to nearly 94,000 in the most recent fiscal year, there was a noticeable growth.
The increase in visitors has also increased Chitwan National Park's earnings. According to Tiwari, ecotourism brought in Rs 305.7 million for the park in the most recent fiscal year, up from Rs 229.3 million the year before.
The Bharatpur Visit Year 2024 is being observed by the Bharatpur Metropolitan City. Mayor Renu Dahal outlined significant national and international marketing initiatives meant to increase tourism in the city.
The district's main tourism destination, Chitwan National Park, continuously brings in the greatest number of visitors. "The increased number of tourists in the national park can be attributed to Bharatpur Visit Year," stated Mayor Dahal.
