Kathmandu,
The Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) has provided its recommendations on the proposal put forward by the Ministry of Health and Population on a matter related to the prevention, control and treatment of the new Covid-19 variant. The CCMC Saturday held a meeting on the measures to prevent and control the infection. "There is a need to make the health protocol more effective in the present situation.
All have stressed the need for making prevention, control and awareness programmes against the virus more effective," said Secretary at the Office of Prime Minister, Khaga Raj Baral. The CCMC has recommended speeding up awareness programmes against the infection at village, community, local level and provincial levels.
The discussion focused on switching over to alternative ways of teaching and learning activities and operating schools on the online mode in the most affected areas instead of shutting down all schools across the country at once, he said. "However, the issue has yet to be decided. Alternative ways of teaching and learning activities will be implemented when the Cabinet takes a decision in this regard," he said.
The meeting agreed on granting authority to local levels to take a decision on the matters related to the prevention, control and treatment of Covid-19 and place effective steps on the prevention of infection at transits, he said.
The meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel was attended by ministers and secretaries of the respective ministries and experts.
