Road construction has started from Khanti, the center of Thasang Rural Municipality of Mustang, to Jomsom, the district headquarters.
Kaligandaki Corridor of National Pride, Beni-Jomsom-Korla road project, which covers 16.5 km of Khanti-Jomsom road section has been pitched.
The contractor company Gauri-Parvati JV has started covering the road in tar with the asphalt technology from Khanti towards Jomsom. More than one kilometer of the road has been blacked. Currently, the contractor has enough bitumen to blacken four kilometers. It has promised to collect more bitumen and other materials and make a black sheet up to Jomsom.
After the construction of the extension, drain, and wall, the place where there is gravel is going to be paved with 11 meters of width. Pappu-Gauri-Parvati-Kosi and Neupane JV signed a contract for Rs 99.62 million in June 2073 to blacken this road.
According to the project, Gauri and Parvati are going to complete the road construction which has been stopped for a year after the partnership between Madhya Pappu, Kosi and Neupane did not work. The project had issued a notice warning that it would be blacklisted last December after the operator, who had stalled the road construction work, did not come in contact.
To avoid being blacklisted, Gauri Parvati has taken the responsibility of moving forward with the work. Prajapati, the head of the project, said that the work of the 25 km section of the Charang-Choser section, which was contracted by Gauri Parvati under the project, is also going to be carried forward.
90 percent of the construction of this section has been completed with a contract of Rs 582.6 million for the gravel._Rss
