Vehicle traffic on the postal highway's Bardiya section has been impeded as a result of water damage to a bridge in Rajapur's Satighat, in the Kailali district.

The Karnali River's water level rose as a result of the days' non-stop rain, damaging the bridge and obstructing traffic for the last three days. This part of the roadway is fully off-limits to vehicles, forcing travellers to take Chisapani instead.

In a similar vein, residents of Gulariya and Barbadiya municipalities have not left their neighbourhood since the water destroyed the Jabdyat bridge across the Babai River.

According to one of the villagers, Vikram Chaudhary, the suspension bridge over the Gyang River was also destroyed by the flood, adding to the locals' misery.

“Bardia district, more than 8,000 households impacted by the storm and floods in those districts received compensation totaling more than Rs 120 million.” said  Bandu Bastola, the Chief District Officer (CDO)

“Each impacted home has got Rs 15,000, and the World Food Programme has also contributed to the relief effort for those affected by the storm and floods.” he added._RSS
