Mt. Manaslu a favourite amongst those seeking permit

The department of tourism has received 1,435 requests for permits to climb various mountains in Nepal this autumn.

As per the department, 15 people have taken permission to climb three mountains till Wednesday. The permits have already been given out to climb the Himlung Himal (7126 m), Saribung (6346 m), and Manaslu (8163 m). Three teams of 15, have requested permission to climb these mountains. Three of the climbers are female.

Up to this point, permission has been granted to 8 climbers from Argentina, 2 from Germany, 2 from Italy, 2 from Japan, and 1 from Spain. More climbers visit other mountains besides Everest during this season. 

Permits for Mt. Manaslu alone brought in Rs. 546.2 million. This fall, as many as 354 male and 118 female climbers plan to ascend different mountains across the nation.

The current weather on the mountain has interfered with the climbers’ attempt to reach the summit even though the lines have been set. After the weather improves, 100 foreign climbers will attempt the summit.
