Morocco's airports recorded 638,806 passengers in January, down 68 percent year on year.

RABAT, 

Morocco's airports recorded 638,806 passengers in January, down 68 percent year on year, the Moroccan Airports Authority said Thursday.

Aircraft movements in all Moroccan airports totaled 7,392 in January, down 58.07 percent, it said in a statement.

This downward trend has continued since the COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020 as all airports in the North African country are affected, the statement added.

The Casablanca International Airport, Morocco's biggest airport, received in January 305,891 passengers, down 64 percent year on year.

In 2020, Morocco's airports recorded 7,150,277 passengers, down 71 percent from 2019.
