A cultural program has been prepared to show the local art and the culture of Rasuwa to the national and international tourists

A cultural group has been prepared to show a glimpse of local art and culture to domestic and foreign tourists visiting the Gatlang area under the Tamang heritage route. Such groups will delight the guests with both the taste of local dishes and dance.

According to Phurpusingi Tamang, District Secretary of the Rasuwa Association of Hotel and Tourism Professionals, the group will prepare a meal for the guests from Gatlang's raisin, radish, beans, parsley, potato, stinging nettle (sisnu), vegetables and corn, millet, pepper, and barley flour. Besides, Tamang culture will be shown among the guests. To demonstrate this, a dance troupe has been prepared in groups of 10 to 20 people.

There are 11 homestays for the accommodation of the visitors and guides have also been prepared at the local level to guide them around. The village of Gatlang, located at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level, is inhabited by 100% of the Tamang community and the Tourism Program for Rural Poverty Alleviation (TRPAP) announced the Tamang Heritage Route in 2057 through the request and coordination of the district level for tourism promotion.

According to the District Coordinating Committee, after naming the Tamang heritage route from Syafrabensi to Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure Khaidi, Vridwim to Langtang, there has been an influx of tourists in that area.

In the Gatlang area of ​​Tamang Sampadamarg, which is difficult to see foreign tourists, the program facilitated the promotion and construction of a 'Community Lodge' for accommodation in the first phase, as well as expansion of homestays, awareness in the form of knowledge of consuming local products. According to tourism professionals, tourists have started staying in Gatlang after this.

As per the Residents of Gatlang, the credit goes to Bhimalal Hirachan, the chairman of the District Development Committee at the time, Ravijang Pandey, the coordinator of the TRPAP program, and Ramchandra Sedhain, the coordinator of the work at the site and currently the executive director of the Tourism Association of Tan, who took the initiative to bring the program to the district.

The religious place Parvatikund located in the Gatlang region, around 400 local Jhurupp settlements with the art of Tamang culture, Yurikhark Himal, and various types of vegetation seen from high places, Langtang, Ganesh Himal are attractive to tourists.

Reaching Gatlang village, which is covered by the road network under the Passanglhamu route, is 150 kilometers north of Kathmandu and is very easy to go in winter. On the other hand, regular direct bus service is being operated from Katmadau to go to Gatlang Homestay.

Also, since the last week of January, the possibility of snowfall has increased and the snowfall will make the entire village of Gatlang dead, and the snow falling in January will last throughout the month of January, so all the guests have been requested to come to Gatlang to play in the snow, according to Phurpu, the secretary of Tourism Hotel Committee. With the snowfall, chaurigai living in the forest are brought to the house, so on one side, chaurigai, yak, sheep and goats can be seen in the same place.

“Since tourists started going to Tatopani, Nakthali, Thuman and Burdwim areas via Goljung, Gatlang, the income from homestay food and lodges has made it easier for children to buy pens, coffee, salt oil, clothes and earn a living,” said District Secretary of Tourism Association Tamang._Rss
