A total of 6,891 people have recovered from COVID-19 while 8203 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours in the country.

A total of 6,891 people have recovered from COVID-19 while 8203 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours in the country. This was revealed in 20,979 tests including 20,286 RT-PCR tests and 693 Antigen tests done in various laboratories around the country.

This takes the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country so far to 472,354. Of the infected, 61.72 per cent are male and 38.28 per cent are female. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, during the period a total of 196 people have died of COVID-19. With this, number of people who have died of corona virus has reached 5,411. 

Meanwhile, the total recoveries have reached 352,414. The total active cases in the country are 114,529 with 752 people in quarantine. Off them, 107,082 people are in home-based isolation while 7,447 are in institutional isolation. Furthermore, 1,590 patients are in ICU while 390 infected are in ventilator support. 

So far, a total of 2,812,959 samples have been tested. Currently, there are 89 laboratories including 53 public and 36 private that are providing RT-PCR tests in different parts of the country.
