12 children tested positive for COVID-19 in Chuwa village, Parbat

A total of 12 children from Chuwa village in Kushma Municipality-8 in Parbat district have been infected with COVID-19. The current surge in the cases in Chuwa village is considered a promotion for the third wave at this time when the infection rate in the district among the children was decreasing previously. 

Ward Chairman Raj Kumar Chhetri revealed that children of 13 months to 11 years are infected with COVID-19. He said that a more infectious Delta coronavirus variant is suspected among the children as the cases are rapidly increasing in the village. 

According to Chhetri, the Gandaki Province Health Directorate has been requested to confirm whether the virus infecting the children is Delta variant or not, as it has been spreading in Chuwa village rapidly. In Chuwa village, there are altogether 42 active cases of coronavirus.
