Constructed by Kanyam Kloud Private Limited, the approximately 60-feet tall bridge has all-women investors. Twelve women investors from Wonders Nepal, which has been constructing various tourism products all around the country, have teamed up to make this pioneering tourism project along the bank of Mechi highway.
The top section of the three-section bridge, where visitors must walk on glass, offers views of both Nepal and the bordering Indian town of Darjeeling, as well as scenes from the Himalayas to the plain Terai.
Ilam's green-carpeted tea garden is an additional and constant attraction for the viewers. For access to the facility, foreign tourists must pay Rs. 500. The price is Rs. 800 for visitors from SAARC nations and Rs. 2000 for foreign visitors, respectively. On the official first day, however, there was a Rs 300 entry fee.
“The entire infrastructures packages including swing, hotels and other activities are estimated to reach Rs. 50 million. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of the Mayor of Suryodaya Rural Municipality, Rana Bahadur Rai, actor Barsha Raut, Singer Alina Chauhan and many tourism figures from Province 1.” said Rita Acharya, Director of the project.
“4-meter wide and 7-meter length Glass Bridge on the top gives a thrilling experience.
