“The transition should be made. It must be renewable energy base, and green, inclusive digital economies and food system should also be transformed.”

Csaba Korosi, President of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), has urged the leaders to take action in terms of development goals. He said, “The world is facing many crises, and it is important to prioritise the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which should be considered as a “to-do-list” for the leaders all over the world.”

The UNGA president also noted, “The COVID-19 pandemic affected global development but cannot be an excuse for inaction, and the speed must be regained. The following year, unlocking new commitments and stimulating the adoption of new policies and partnerships based on scientific inputs.”

The UNGA president urged, “Multilateral Commitment on starting a science support mechanism and assist member states by providing transparent scientific indicators for Sustainable Development.”

“Critical financing issues should not be neglected, and the High-Level Meeting on Developing Finance will occur at the same time as the SDG Summit. There is a need for initiatives from civil society, the passion of youth, the support of private sector but most importantly the promises made by member states,” he added.

To achieve the Agenda of 2030 for Sustainable Development, is to highlight the actions showing changes and advancing the transformations. The political declaration was created and adopted at the first SDG summit in 2019, which commanded the UN secretary-general to call the event as part of every high-level week of the General Assembly from 2020 to 2030._Xinhwa
