In an effort to attract religious tourists, a vibrant Triveni Mela is set to unfold in the sacred precincts of Triveni Bhagwati, situated in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, Mankamana of Gorkha, commencing this evening. The event is specially organized to coincide with the Haribodhani Ekadashi (Big Ekadashi) festival, with the Triveni Mela taking place within the temple premises.
Babu Gurung, the president of the local Kalika Yuva Club, shared that a fair is scheduled to take place from this evening until tomorrow morning. This initiative aims to showcase and promote Triveni Bhagwati, a local hub for both religious worship and tourism.
Gurung mentioned that the fair will not only feature cultural programs but also include musical performances by renowned folk singers such as Prithvi Gurung, Shyam Rana, Sujan Gurung, and the celebrated folk and double singer Nirjala Gurung, along with other talented local artists.
As part of the festivities, a special pooja at the Bhagwati temple is planned to mark the conclusion of the fair. Ekadashi witnesses a grand fair at this temple annually, with Triveni Bhagwati, believed to be the youngest sister among the seven sisters of the revered Manakamana Devi, holding a significant place in local religious beliefs. Devotees hold the conviction that the worship of Manakamana Devi is truly fulfilled only after offering water to Triveni Bhagwati.
