Tourism Minister Shrestha lays emphasis on preserving culture and heritage

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeewan Ram Shrestha stressed the need to promote the culture and heritage as the identity markers of the country.

At a Gaijatra and Ropain Jatra programme and prize distribution ceremony, Minister Shrestha expressed his confidence that the culture, festival and processions of the country would help establish Nepal's identity in the international arena and attract foreign tourists. It is tourism that propels the country's dream of prosperity, he said, adding that blending nature, culture and adventure was a must for tourism promotion in the country. 

On the occasion, Bagmati Province Assembly member Tzhiing Dorje Lama said the cultural and religious processions practised in the country had demonstrated national unity.
