Due to the lack of attention of the relevant authorities, the transporters have complained that it is difficult for passengers to drive their vehicles. Locals say that when the road is dug against the standard, floods and landslides occur during the rainy season. Even though the rains are over and the festive season has started, the locals have to suffer because the roads leading to the villages are not open.
Road section from Rolpa headquarter Liwang to Thawang via Sahid Marg and road section to Sunchahari Rural Municipality from Sulichour of Sanilsmriti Rural Municipality were blocked due to landslides. There are 72 wards in Rolpa, which has one municipality and nine villages.
“It is difficult to walk due to the landslide. Due to rain, the entire road has been damaged and blocked. Even in the places where the landslide did not occur, the road was torn and it was difficult to travel.” said Dal Bahadur Khatri of Rolpa Municipality-9.
“The road is blocked in most places and everyone has to walk. Although all the wards are connected to the district headquarters Liwang by road network, the roads dug against the standards were blocked due to landslides.” Said Lokendra Chand of Parivartan Rural Municipality, who had to go home to celebrate Dashain due to a landslide on the road._Rss
