Get a sneak-peek into festive Nepal and indulge yourself in the colorful valley. October is the month to welcome Nepal’s biggest festivals. Here are some of the major festivals held in Nepal during this time of the year:
Dashain: Hype on the streets scurry of people, kites and swings, Dashain is the 15 days long festival that starts with Ghatasthapana and ends with Tika.
Tihar: The festival of lights also called Deepawali in the Terai, it is the second most important celebration for Nepali Hindus. It follows Dashain by a few weeks and is celebrated with decorating and lighting up the cities.
Bhai tika: celebrated on the last day of Tihar the festival remarks on the bond between brothers and their sisters. You can see the markets full of flowers and varieties of food around these festivals.
