Like Sauraha, Patihani in western Chitwan has been a favorite of tourists in recent times

Chitwan is the best destination for tourists visiting wildlife. Tourists from all over the country and abroad come to see the rare one-horned rhinoceros and other wildlife in Chitwan National Park. Sauraha is a well-known name for tourists visiting the park. Like Sauraha, other places associated with the park are also being developed as excellent tourist destinations.

Like Sauraha, Patihani in western Chitwan has been a favourite of tourists in recent times. Patihani, located in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22, has now become a center of attraction for domestic as well as foreign tourists.

“The arrival of foreign tourists has started increasing here. The local levels have been constructing various infrastructures and coordinating to extend the stay of tourists in Patihani. The area has become the preferred destination for tourists coming for jungle safari as the wild animals of the park are concentrating towards the west. The peaceful atmosphere here attracts tourists,” said Ward chair, Bishnu Raj Mahato.

Patihani can be reached after travelling about 14 kilometers from the main market area of Bharatpur. Tourism activities here, which were slowed down due to the Corona epidemic, have again come to a halt. Tourists found enjoying with elephants in the Rapti River adjacent to Chitwan National Park are happy with the environment of Patihani.

Tourists visiting Patihani can see wildlife including gharial crocodiles as well as one-horned rhinos in the Rapti River which flows along with Chitwan National Park. Hotels with big facilities have been constructed here to attract expensive tourists. Tourism structures have been constructed targeting domestic and foreign tourists in Patihani.

The Umbrella Street, which has been built targeting domestic tourists, has become the center of attraction. It is easy to reach Patihani, the tourist center at the nearest distance of Bharatpur Metropolitan City. The ring road to be constructed within the metropolitan city also passes through this area.

Tourism activities are increasing in Patihani due to the movement of hotels and tourists opened here. A total of 191,883 people visited the national park in the current fiscal year 2079÷80 BS. A total of 190,458 people had visited the park in the last fiscal year. With four months left for the end of the fiscal year, the number of tourists is more than the previous year. Birds can be seen in the park along with animals like one-horned rhinoceros, tigers, gharial crocodiles._Rss
