Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati has emphasized that Dharan should be developed as a center of eastern tourism. Dharan should be made a center of tourism by using the religious places and the Saptakosi waterway and market the indigenous products of this region.

At the closing ceremony of 'Dharan Expo-2079' organized by Sunsari Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Dharan under the promotion of Nepal Tourism Board, Minister Kirati expressed the opinion that since Dharan is a business and tourism center, it can be developed as a tourism center and made into a center for marketing indigenous products.

For the promotion of tourism, by making Nepali 'model' of the products of this sector for marketing, he emphasized that farmers, entrepreneurs, businessmen should all work for the sustainable development of tourism in order to collectively mobilize Nepali resources.

Former Minister Meen Vishwakarma urged industrialists and businessmen to 'brand' local products for full utilization of available resources and means. Dr. Dhananjaya Regmi, the executive head of the Nepal Tourism Board, emphasized that local dishes should be promoted for the development of tourism in Dharan and mentioned that the tourism board is playing an active role in the overall tourism promotion of the East.

Hark Sampang, the head of Dharan sub-metropolitan city, said that it is necessary to make a rule that production-oriented businesses and businessmen cannot take the capital earned by investing outside Dharan. Board member Krishna Shah said that the Expo is expected to help in the promotion of tourism in Dharan and its surroundings.

Vijay Shrestha, president of Sunsari Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed that there are 130 rooms, including 15 related to tourism, in the expo that started on Falgun 11th._Rss
