March witnessed a remarkable increase of 28.9% in foreign tourist arrivals compared to the same period last year

Nepal is experiencing a significant surge in tourist arrivals, particularly as the tourist season kicks off. According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), March witnessed a remarkable increase of 28.9% in foreign tourist arrivals compared to the same period last year. In March 2024 alone, a total of 128,167 tourists from various countries entered Nepal by air, up from 99,426 in March 2023.

The months of March, April, and May traditionally attract a high volume of tourists to Nepal, drawn by the allure of trekking and mountain climbing adventures. This season, the largest group of tourists hailed from India, totaling 30,698.

In March 2024, notable numbers of tourists arrived from various countries, including 12,093 from China, 10,763 from America, 7,241 from Britain, 5,741 from Sri Lanka, 5,255 from Germany, 4,567 from Thailand, 4,345 from Australia, 3,240 from France, and 3,131 from Myanmar.

This surge in tourist arrivals signifies a promising start to Nepal's tourism season, highlighting the country's enduring appeal as a destination for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts from around the globe.
