The lawmakers have drawn the government's attention to take action to those involved in raping a woman in Kailali quarantine and expand the PCR tests in the wake of increasing infection of coronavirus across the country.
Speaking in the zero hour of the National Assembly today, NCP lawmaker Sharada Devi Bhatta said the government must take stringent action against those involved in rape. "Rapists are more dangerous than coronavirus," she added. Bimala Poudel from the same party urged the government to remain further alert to ensure safety to the women and children in the pandemic.
Lawmaker Sher Bahadur Kunwar demanded the government to expand and intensify the PCR tests of some 70,000 to 90,000 people who are staying in the quarantine of Sudurpaschim State after returning home from India. Lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari pointed out the need of immediate rescue of those Nepalis stranded in various countries due to COVID-19 lockdown. "Nepalis abroad are suffering from hunger and disease. They must not be left unattended for long," he emphasized.
