IME Life Insurance has provided NPR 600,000 to support free cataract surgeries for 100 underprivileged patients from Dhanusha and Mahottari in partnership with Matrika Eye Care Center.

Kathmandu, Nepal – IME Life Insurance Company Limited has extended financial support for free cataract surgeries for 100 economically disadvantaged citizens through a collaboration with Matrika Eye Care Center under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

As part of the programme, IME Life Insurance has contributed NPR 600,000 to facilitate cataract surgeries for 100 patients from the rural areas of Dhanusha and Mahottari, where access to specialised eye care services remains limited due to financial constraints, helping restore vision and improve their quality of life.

Matrika Eye Care Center has been actively conducting eye health camps, cataract screenings, and surgical programmes across Nepal, providing essential services to underserved communities. The partnership between the organisation and IME Life Insurance is expected to enhance access to eye care while creating a meaningful social impact at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khilendra Paudel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of IME Life Insurance, stated that the company has consistently contributed to healthcare, education, and community development through its CSR initiatives. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would offer renewed hope to individuals facing the risk of vision loss due to financial difficulties.

Similarly, Mr. Suraj Shrestha, President of Matrika Eye Care Center, expressed gratitude towards IME Life Insurance for its support and noted that the programme would bring positive and lasting change to hundreds of economically disadvantaged families in rural Nepal.

Guided by its core philosophy of "Ensuring Future," IME Life Insurance continues to implement social responsibility programmes across key sectors including healthcare, education, environmental conservation, financial literacy, and community empowerment.

The latest initiative reflects the company's commitment to improving access to essential healthcare services and supporting vulnerable communities across Nepal.
