The 156th edition of the renowned historical Ram Leela, depicting the life of Lord Ram, has officially commenced in Nepalgunj. A troupe of talented artists from Brindaban, India, has taken up the task of screening 'Ram Leela,' narrating the life stories of Ram, Sita, Laxman, Hanuman, and Rawan.
Santosh Kumar Kanodiya, Chairperson of the Ram Leela Operation Committee, shared that a 22-member musical team led by Jagadish Prasad Sharma from Brindaban Dham is orchestrating the Ram Leela. The performances will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every day, culminating on the day of Bijaya Dashami, which marks the end of Dashain.
The event has garnered enthusiastic participation from hundreds of spectators in Nepalgunj. The Ram Leela, which has become emblematic of the region, is expected to enhance the reputation of Nepalgunj in both Nepal and India, as stated by Nandalal Baishya, a local leader from Nepalgunj. At the inauguration ceremony, Prashant Bista, the Mayor of Nepalgunj sub-metropolis, emphasized Ram Leela's role in fostering social harmony and unity. Similarly, Shrawan Kumar Pokharel, the Chief District Officer, expressed his confidence that the people of Banke will unite for the cause of social harmony._Rss
