Health worker and frontline warriors in Banke tested positive for COVID-19 infection and put in isolation

Health workers as well as police personnel in the frontline in the fight against COVID-19 have been found infected with the coronavirus.

A police constable stationed at the Narainapur Rural Municipality, Kalaphanta post has tested positive. One of the 27 people found infected in the rural municipality on Saturday is a police constable, said DSP at the District Police Office Shiva Bahadur Singh. Other police personnel in the same post have been quarantined and a PCR test underway.

Likewise, a health worker working at Khajura rural municipality has also been found infected. The health worker was based at the Quarantine in Khajura-5, where an India-returnee youth was found infected. The 27 infected have been put in isolation at the isolation centre in the Agriculture Research Centre premises in Khajura, District Health Office, Banke focal person Naresh Shrestha said.
