China has announced that starting May 1, 2024, Nepali citizens will receive visas to China free of charge, as declared by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal. This decision aims to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and improve service convenience. However, while the standard visa will be without charge, there will still be fees for express service and other services, ranging from Rs 2,700 to Rs 4,000. Nepali citizens currently enjoy visa-free access to China, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha's recent visit to China likely influenced this decision.
