At Tigerland, you’ll get to enjoy the best of Chitwan in the lap of luxury and comfort

For someone who has spent most of their time amongst the dust, smoke, and buildings, Chitwan is the perfect destination for a short getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, in the heart of the forest as its name comes from- ‘chit’ meaning heart and ‘wan’ meaning forest. Situated on the edges of the National Park, on the banks of river Rapti, Tigerland Safari Resort is quaint yet cozy, rural yet luxurious.

A 45-minute jeep ride, from Bharatpur airport, Tigerland greets you with tall wooden gates and pebbled pathways. Following the pebbles leads you to the vast expanse of greenery surrounding the 8-acre resort, guaranteeing you peace and quiet for the next three days.

Feel at Home

As soon as you reach, the smiling staff will help you refresh yourself with wet towels and a cool glass of lemonade— the perfect combination to beat the humid heat.  Even if it’s late at night, the staff is quick to respond to your calls of help and are always willing to help out with ticketing, transportation and anything you need. Always asking if we want a drink, if we’re hungry, the hospitality at Tigerland is unrivaled.

Food for the Soul

During your stay at Tigerland, you’ll be able to devour delicacies from across the world; from Chinese to Italian, they have everything on their buffet, alternating cuisines for every meal except for breakfast. Don’t worry; you’ll eat breakfast like a king—local bread, fresh fruit, muesli, your choice of eggs—the restaurant lets you pick the base of your breakfast. To top it off, the resort holds scrumptious barbecues every now and then for guests to feast on.

Live like the Tharus

Built on stilts, the cabins of the resort replicate the homes of the Tharu, an indigenous group of Chitwan, who built such high homes to avoid the monsoon flooding and tropical heat. Each of the 32 air-conditioned cabins is well equipped with a mini-fridge, an intercom, and running hot water and offers a fantastic view of the neighboring jungle from their balconies.  The cabins lie secluded in the nature but just enough to offer you enough privacy.

Seek the Thrill

Tigerland Safari Resort

Starting from the jeep safari, you’ll get to scour the nearby forest areas and if you’re lucky you'll spot tigers, rhinos, deer and more. The wind rushing into your ears as the jeep drives through the jungle is replaced by the tranquil babbling of the water as you canoe down Rapti River.  At the end of your boat ride, you’ll be taken on a 30 minute jungle walk, exploring crocodile breeding centers; With experienced naturalists on their team, Tigerland Safari Resort makes sure you know what you’re seeing wherever you are.  The resorts own two female elephants, the jewels of their crown— you can enjoy a shower with these adorable giants or go on a walk with them in the park.
