The exciting Thai food festival was announced at a press meet at The Soaltee Kathmandu on June 17. The two-week long fest is homage to Thai traditional cookery and its varied condiments.
Pairaj Polpeng, Thai Master Chef, travelled all the way from Thailand just for the extravaganza. To a foodie’s delight, The Soaltee Kathmandu is hosting the Thai Food Festival from June 17 to July 2. The authenticity of the cuisine remains intact, thanks to Chef Polpeng. He has incorporated indigenous Thai ingredients from Thailand and brought to life the food festival.
The hotel intends to import ingredients indigenous to Thailand for the two-week long festival; such as galangal, pandan leaves, sticky rice, Thai chilli, and more.
Soaltee's Executive Chef, Agni Mitra, lauded, "Chef Polpeng is a very dedicated and hard-working person. He has been working consistently to curate the perfect menu since his arrival."
Chef Polpeng has been training and sharing his special Thai recipes with other chefs at the hotel to ensure the authenticity of the cuisine is retained. As a Thai representative to Nepal, he aims to curate a stellar menu that stays consistent.
The aroma of spices used in Thai cookery creates a beautiful harmony. Thai cuisine is a balance of numerous flavours in a single dish; sweet, spicy, hot, sour, tangy, and salty, all served on a single platter.
The enthusiasm, dedication of Chef Polpeng is clearly reflected in each of his dishes; over 35 years of his experience in cooking.
