One of the most prominent landmarks in Kathmandu Valley is the Chimney Restaurant at Hotel Yak & Yeti. First started as the Yak & Yeti restaurant by the famous Boris Lissanevitch in year 1954, the restaurant has been pioneer of hospitality in Nepal since inception. As a years old tradition, in the mid of November, the famous copper chimney is fired. The Chimney lighting also signifies the onset of winter.
This year the event was accompanied by many honorary guests and ambassadors. The chimney was lit by His Excellency Aleksei Novikov, Ambassador of Russia to Nepal. Many notable personalities attended the event including His Excellency Saeed Hamdam Al Naqbi, Ambassador of UAE to Nepal, His Excellency Francois - Xavier Leger, Ambassador of France to Nepal and His Excellency Himalee Arunatilaka, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal.
The event concluded with a spectacular dinner where guests mingled with each other amidst good food and wine.
